Ajay Kumar Sharma

Dr. Ajay Kumar Sharma born and brought in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, India. He received his Ph.D. degree in Chemical Sciences at Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), India in 2024 under the supervision of Dr. Pralay Das, CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology, Palampur, India. Dr. Sharma earned his M.Sc. degree in Chemistry from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, India. He has also been a recipient of the “Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) Junior & Senior Research Fellowship” from DST, Government of India. His doctoral research involves heterogeneous nano-catalyst development for carbonylation reactions and advanced organic transformations. His expertise also extends to molecular probe-based colorimetric sensing.

Dr. Sharma has significantly contributed to the academic discourse with publications in esteemed journals such as ACS Catalysis, Chemical Engineering Journal, Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical (Elsevier), Catalysis Science & Technology, Chemical Communications (RSC), Chem. Eur. J. (Wiley). Currently, he serves as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Materials-Envi Lab at the Nanotechnology Centre of the Centre for Energy and Environmental Technology (CEET), VSB-Technical University of Ostrava, under the mentorship of Prof. Radek Zbořil and Prof. Jagadeesh Rajenahally. His current research focuses on nanocatalysis and single-atom catalysis for advanced organic transformations.
