Hossein Hejazi

Dr. S. M. Hossein Hejazi earned his doctoral degree in Materials Science and Engineering from “Amirkabir University of Technology” (AUT), Iran, in 2017. He is currently a dedicated researcher in the pioneering Photoelectrochemistry Group at the Regional Centre of Advanced Technologies and Materials (RCPTM), Palacký University. He is also a part of the innovative Materials-Envi lab (MEL) at the Technical University of Ostrava in the Czech Republic. His primary area of expertise lies in synthesizing and characterization of nanomaterial photocatalysts loaded with single atoms, with the aim of enhancing water splitting and CO2 reduction processes. His recent endeavors involve synthesizing high index facets of brookite TiO2 and developing surfaces with controlled defects. These engineered surfaces serve as platforms to immobilize precious metallic single atoms, thereby boosting the efficiency of photocatalytic hydrogen evolution.
