Dr. Ishani Borthakur is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Materials-Envi Lab (MEL) at VSB-Technical University of Ostrava, under the supervision of Prof. Radek Zbořil and Dr. Indrajit Ghosh.

Having earned her doctorate degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, Dr. Borthakur specializes in organometallic catalysis, with a focus on the functionalization of alcohols. Her research has significant impact particularly in utilizing methanol as both a hydrogen source and C1 building block.

Dr. Borthakur has published 14 research articles and reviews in reputed peer-reviewed journals including ACS Catalysis, ChemSusChem, Chemistry- A European Journal, Chemical Communications, and Coordination Chemistry Reviews with citations over 400 and h-index 9: according to Google Scholar.
