Dr. Nidhi Garg was born and raised in Haryana, India. She earned her Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (2024) under Prof. Basker Sundararaju, focusing on iridium- and cobalt-catalysed (de)hydrogenation and transfer hydrogenation reactions. As an experimental chemist, she specializes in synthesizing and characterizing organic, inorganic, and nanomaterials, with a passion for translating laboratory research into real-world chemical solutions. Her work involves detailed mechanistic investigations, combining DFT calculations and spectroscopic techniques to unravel structure–property relationships and enhance catalyst performance.

During her Ph.D., Dr. Garg was awarded the prestigious Raman–Charpak Fellowship (2022) by IFCPAR/CEFIPRA, conducting research at the Laboratoire de Chimie de Coordination (LCC-CNRS), France, with Prof. Rinaldo Poli. She also received the Junior and Senior Research Fellowships (DST, Government of India) and earned accolades including the Best Thesis Award (Special Mention), multiple best-poster awards, a gold medal in her M.Sc. (Chemistry, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar NIT Jalandhar, 2017), and the Gargi Pathfinder Award during her B.Sc. (Hons.) Chemistry from Gargi College, University of Delhi (2015).

Dr. Garg has authored several peer-reviewed publications, reviews, and a book chapter in high-impact journals. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Materials-Envi Lab, Center for Nanotechnology, CEET, VŠB–Technical University of Ostrava, under Prof. Radek Zbořil and Prof. Jagadeesh Rajenahally, focusing on single-atom catalysis for advanced organic transformations.
