Ravishankar G. Kadam

Dr. Ravishankar G. Kadam obtained his Ph. D in chemistry from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, in 2018. He joined the Regional Center for Advanced Technologies and Materials (RCPTM), Palacký University, Czech Republic as a postdoctoral fellow in 2018. Currently, he is serving as a senior researcher at the RCPTM research unit of the Czech Institute for Research and Advanced Technologies (CATRIN). He is also associated with the Materials-Envi Lab at the Center for Energy and Environmental Technologies (CEET) at the VŠB Technical University in Ostrava.
His research focuses on the synthesis and characterization of heterogeneous catalysts, including porous silica, alumina, carbon nanomaterial supported metal/metal oxides catalysts and nanostructured single-atom catalysts (SACs) for heterogeneous catalysis applications.
Research interest emphases on a combination of experimental and theoretical studies to investigate detail catalysts surfaces properties, metal-support interactions, coordination environment and the electronic structures of the active metal centres to design high performance catalysts.
Catalytic activity and reaction mechanisms studies primarily focuses on key organic transformations, including the functionalization of C-H, C-N, C-O, and Si-H bonds, typically involving oxidation, dehydrogenation, and hydrogenation catalytic pathways. Additionally, research aims to explore the efficiency of novel heterogeneous single-atom catalysts in activation of small molecules (e.g., O₂, H₂, CO₂), sustainable catalytic processes, biomass conversion into renewable chemicals, electrochemical and fuel cell applications for clean energy production.
Dr. Ravishankar G. Kadam has published and made significant contributions in various high-impact scientific international journals such as Adv. Mater., Nat. Catal., ACS Catal., Small., Chem. Eng. J., Chem. Sci. and others.
