Soichiro Nakatsuka

Dr. Soichiro Nakatsuka (ORCID 0000-0003-1720-8169) was born in Osaka, Japan in 1991. He obtained his PhD degree in 2019 from the Kwansei Gakuin University, under supervision of Prof. Takuji Hatakeyama. During 2016-2019 he was also a JSPS Research Fellow (DC1). He then moved to Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and then the Hokkaido University in Japan for postdoctoral work. After 2 enjoyable years, he moved back to his Alma Mater, the Kwansei Gakuin University as a lecture in 2021. In 2021 he was awarded a 38th Inoue Research Award for Young Scientists which is given to young researchers who have earned their PhDs in the field of natural science in the past three years for outstanding doctoral theses. In the year 2022 he became researcher at the Kyoto University, Department of chemistry. Currently, he is a postdoctoral researcher at VSB-TUO, CEET, Materials-Envi Lab in Ostrava, Czech Republic. His main research interests are focused on the atomically precious multiple heteroatom substitution of nanocarbons, and bottom-up synthesis of heteronanocarbons toward application in catalysis and electrochemistry.
