The Materials Envi-Lab focuses on the development of new carbon and metal-based materials using materials chemistry, advanced surface deposition techniques and atomic engineering. Low-dimensional (2D, 1D, 0D) materials are developed using computational design with the ability to precisely control structural and physicochemical properties at the single atom level. Advanced materials and technologies are applied in the fields of solar energy conversion, solar cells, photochemical hydrogen production, energy storage, heterogeneous catalysis, water purification and biomedicine.
