Dr. Sayantan Chongdar is a materials chemist from Batanagar, a town in the state of West Bengal, India. He earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from University of Calcutta in 2018. He then joined Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) as integrated Ph.D. scholar, where he obtained his master’s degree in chemistry in 2020, followed by his Ph.D. degree in 2025 under the guidance of Prof. Asim Bhaumik. His doctoral research focused on the design of nanoporous materials, including MOFs, COFs and porous organic polymers for sustainable energy and environmental applications, particularly in electrocatalytic CO2 conversion, electro-organic synthesis, water splitting, and heterogeneous electrocatalysis.
Dr. Chongdar has published 8 first-author and co-authored over 15 research articles and reviews in leading peer-reviewed journals. His scholarly contributions also include a granted German patent and a book chapter published by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC).
Dr. Sayantan Chongdar is currently a postdoctoral fellow at VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava, Czechia, where his research focuses on the development of advanced porous and single-atom materials for electrocatalytic applications.
