Vishal Shrivastav

Dr. Vishal Shrivastav is a Postdoctoral researcher at the Materials-Envi Lab (MELab), Center for Energy and Environmental Technologies (CEET), VSB–Technical University of Ostrava, as well as at the Czech Institute of Research and Advanced Technologies (CATRIN), Palacký University in Olomouc. His research focuses on the design, synthesis, and advanced characterization of functional materials for electrochemical energy-storage applications. He develops metal-organic frameworks, MOF-derived nanostructures, porous carbons, graphene-based composites, metal oxides, sulfides, phosphides, and hybrid electrode materials for next-generation batteries and supercapacitors, with an emphasis on charge-storage mechanisms, electrode/electrolyte interfaces, ion transport, and material stability.

He received his PhD in Materials Science from the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research- Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (AcSIR-CSIO), India in 2022, where he worked on metal-organic-framework-derived nanostructures and their composites for hybrid energy-storage devices. He has previously worked as a Marie Curie Fellow at CATRIN, Palacký University, Czech Republic, and as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences, Poland. His research experience covers lithium-, sodium-, potassium-, zinc-, and magnesium-based battery systems, along with supercapacitors and other emerging electrochemical energy-storage technologies.

Dr. Shrivastav has published more than 45 peer-reviewed research articles in international journals, including Nature Communications, Chemical Engineering Journal, Coordination Chemistry Reviews, Advanced Energy Materials, Journal of Materials Chemistry A, Carbon, Nano Energy, and others. His major recognitions include the Marie Curie Fellowship, PASIFIC Fellowship, Green Talent Award, Young Researchers Award at IChF-PAS, and Best Thesis Award by AcSIR.
