Indrajit Ghosh
Dr. Indrajit Ghosh is a Group Leader and Senior Researcher at MELab in Ostrava, Czech Republic.
He completed his Ph.D. in Chemistry with distinction in 2013 at Jacobs University Bremen, Germany, under the supervision of Prof. Werner M. Nau.
During his postdoctoral research with Prof. Burkhard König (University of Regensburg) and Prof. Markus Antonietti (Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces), Dr. Ghosh played a pivotal role in advancing synthetic (photoredox) chemistry. As a first or corresponding author, he pioneered transformative concepts such as ConPET, SenI-ET, chromo-selective catalysis, and AD-HoC catalysis. Additionally, he contributed to semiconductor catalysis using mpg-CN, enabling the „double functionalization“ of inert C-H bonds in heteroarenes.
His research work at MELab lies at the interface of materials science and organic chemistry, with a focus on the rational design and synthesis of functional materials (including single-entity catalysts) for applications in photochemical synthetic transformations, particularly addressing reactions that are traditionally considered challenging.
Dr. Ghosh has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications, which have been cited approximately 6,000 times, reflecting a current h-index of ≥ 32 (Google Scholar).
